Vibrant, polished, hydrated
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that uses a mechanical method of gently exfoliating the superficial layer of the skin, known as the stratum corneum. Dead skin cells dull the appearance of our skin, clog pores, create flaking and prevent the absorption of nutrients and oxygen and expelling of toxins. When this dead cell layer is removed, the skin underneath can breathe, hydrate, expel toxins and absorb nutrients at an optimal rate.
Microdermabrasion encourages new cell regeneration in the dermal layer. You will notice that your skin care products begin to work better, and over time, you will see a decrease in fine lines, large pores and asphyxiated skin from environmental damage such as smoking and excess sun exposure. Microdermabrasion may also lighten pigmentation for a more uniform skin tone. Your skin becomes firmer, clearer, plumper and dewier.
Microdermabrasion can be used as a stand-alone treatment, or in combination with other treatments where it compliments the effects.
Healthpoint Laser Aesthetics uses a microdermabrasion system that utilizes unrefined diamond chips at the tip of the hand piece to slowly and safely remove the dead skin. Treatments are painless and clients can return to work immediately after the treatment.

Of the two types of microdermabrasion—crystal and diamond—diamond microdermabrasion devices have higher safety levels. This technology also eliminates the need for abrasive particles or chemicals peels that can irritate the skin. Finally, diamond microdermabrasion is safer for use on delicate tissues around the eyes and lips.
Microdermabrasion treatments take about 45 minutes and can easily be done over a lunch hour. Little or no recovery time is required.
